Fakemon ARAKAIRN

ARAKAIRN, the Stone Pile Pokémon. It moves quickly for a Rock-typed Pokémon, using its four limbs as legs. ARAKAIRN moves from one place to another, confusing adventurers who rely on them as markers for direction.

Name Origin: ARAchNId and cAIRN [man-made pile of stones used as landscape markers], 'K' in place of 'k'-sounding 'CH' and 'C' for a more ethnic-looking name

For a very critical reason, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all future ers and ers of my works.

After my Stone Pile Fakemon Skairn is... another Stone Pile Fakemon! Here's Skairn's evolution, Arakairn!

Arakairn is based, again, from a cairn, "man-made pile of stones [...] found all over the world in uplands, on moorland, on mountaintops, near waterways and on sea cliffs, and also in barren desert and tundra areas" according to its Wikipedia page. But this time, it is also based on an arachnid, sort of, with those long pebble-legs and the insect-like stance. Arakairn is actually composed of two Skairns, one on top of the other, reminiscent of my Snow Due Fakemon Dusnoble.

Arakairn's unique Rock/Ghost typing is influenced again by the Wiki entry for cairns used "as sepulchral monuments, or [...] for defensive, hunting, ceremonial, astronomical and other purposes" -- an easy call for a mysterious type. The secondary Ghost-typing is influenced by the evolution method I decided for it to have: trading. There are exactly four Pokémon that evolves when traded [without the aid of held items] each in Generation I [Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler, and Haunter] and Generation V [Boldore, Gurdurr, Karrablast, and Shelmet]. Since Vamprowl evolves into Vampierce via trade [and not Happiness as Crobat does] , then I only have three spots for trade evos left. I decided to go with Graveler/Boldore's Rock type and Haunter's Ghost type because I am not convinced by a Rock/Fighting type, and I already have Tonaztek and Aztekalen as my Rock/Psychic Fakemons.

Arakairn's stats are rather a far cry from that of Graveler and Boldore, even though my evolved Stone Pile Fakemon's 390 stat total is similar to that of the evolved Rock Pokémon and the Ore Pokémon. The main reason is as the Dex entry stated, Arakairn moves quickly for a Rock-typed Pokémon, that it grew a whopping 45 points in Speed, bringing the stat to a great 75! That's more than twice the Speed of Graveler and almost quadruple that of Boldore! All the rest of its stats [50 HP, 90 Attack, 100 Defense, 35 Special Attack, and 40 Special Defense] grew by a measly 10 points each from Skairn's. This somehow mirrors Graveler's stats growing by 15 points each from that of Geodude's. As for the movepool, Arakairn has the same moves as Skairn, except for a relearnable Steamroller [influenced by Graveler's evo line] since Arakairn resembles an insect.

Next up is Arakairn's evo, Skairn's final stage, which can only be caught via trading! I kept Arakairn's description short because its evo's description would be lengthy, as I will need to explain [1] why I gave Arkairn's evo line the Ice-typed move Avalanche, [2] why it has an Ice-type-related Snow Cloak as one of its regular Abilities, and [3] why Ice/Ghost Froslass is involved in choosing its Dream World Ability, Cursed Body! Whew, lots of explanations await you! But for now, I hope you'd want to have this uniquely speedy Rock/Ghost Fakemon, Arakairn!
