For a very critical reason, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all future :+fav:ers and :+devwatch:ers of my works. :D :D :D

Tōrō Nagashi (or floating of lanterns) is a Japanese ceremony in which participants float paper lanterns (chōchin) down a river; tōrō is traditionally another word for lantern, while nagashi means "cruise, flow". - Wikipedia on Tōrō Nagashi

Again with the quote! Lol! :P So Floatorch is based on floating lanterns! :D And like Floatern, it is also based on box jellyfishes. And finally, being the final stage, its once small lantern body grew to that of a Medieval torch. ;) Short and sweet description! ;) Oh, I just have to get this off my chest: I was all architect-like with Floatorch's anatomy! So much measurement! I wanted to play with perspective a bit, but it required exactness than sheer luck to pull of! ^^;

I've already mentioned in Floatern's page that I am entering pokemonblackandwhite.net's Fakemon Design Contest, and Floatorch here is my entry for the Fire/Water category [I just inverted the types to Water/Fire because I feel that the primary type determines majority of its anatomy]. This is mainly the reason why I didn't go with the Poison type even though box jellyfishes are known for their extremely potent venom. I simply thought of something that screams Fire-type that is also as boxy as Water-typed box jellyfishes. And voila, you see before you the product of my research and creativity. ;)

You see, I already have a jellyfish Fakemon, the Water/Electric Gelecstorm, and with two fully-evolved, canon jellyfish Pokémon Tentacruel and Jellicent, I had to be very, very careful with stat assignment. Tentacruel's stat total is 515; Jellicent's, 480; and Gelecstorm's, 500. Floatorch gets a high 505 stat total, which I think is fair, given that my Ceremonial Fakemon is quite rare as compared to the commonplace Gelecstorm. Like Floatern, Floatorch still excels in Special attributes, with 105 each on Special Attack and Special Defense, because the Water and Fire types both started as exclusively Special. It has a low 55 Attack, mediocre 70 Speed and 75 Defense, but has a good 95 HP to back those stats up. ;)

A quick commercial first! Having shamelessly plugged the Trapped Fakemon, Fwiker in Floatern's page, I feel obliged to promote its evolution, the Wicker Man Fakemon, Sakrifwik, here in Floatorch's page. ;) After all, Sakrifwik has a Ritual Form that can be associated with Floatorch's Ceremonial Species. :P

Now, back to regular programming. :P As with the jellyfish Pokémon, Floatorch has the same movepool as its pre-evolution, so I will just proceed with possible strategies for it. You have here a very slow Special Sweeper, with 105 Special Attack and Overheat/Inferno/Heat Wave, Hydro Pump/Surf via HM/Brine/Scald, Wring Out, Hex/Shadow Ball via TM, and even Psychic and Hidden Power, both via TM, due to relation with the spiritual realm. It's sad that Floatorch should not learn Ice Beam because of typing. Research shows that Water/Ice Pokémon cannot learn Scald because the move requires hot water which Ice types cannot produce. To be fair, Water/Fire Floatorch cannot learn any Ice-typed moves [except via Hidden Power], which would makes sense. Moving on, Will-O-Wisp and Hex gives Floatorch another option: Afflicter-Sweeper, similar to Jellicent. Also, Scald's and Inferno's chances to burn can also be paired with Hex as alternatives, so you could still deal direct damage per turn instead of just a sure-hit affliction at first. ;)

As for Abilities, Overcoat is very favorable in a Sandstorm- or Hail-centered team, while Clear Body would be your best bet in general. Flame Body is there to burn, too, as long as Floatorch can withstand strong Physical moves. :P

There you go, my first entry to the contest! Hope I'd win! I heard they have sweet, awesome prizes at stake! :D :D :D

Floatorch is mine, and is my first entry to pokemonblackandwhite.net's Fakemon Design Contest!
Gelecstorm, Fwiker, and Sakrifwik are also mine!
