KNUKLAW, the Boxer Crab Pokémon. When a fishing KLAWEAN catches an ANEMOSEA, it evolves into KNUKLAW. It makes ANEMOSEA's upper body into makeshift gloves, to make its pincers look bigger. Though not a POISON-type, KNUKLAW is able to sting its prey with its POISON JAB using ANEMOSEA's toxins. It fires powerful punches using ANEMOSEA's body as gloves.
Name Origin: KNUcKLe and cLAW Type: Water / Fighting Ability: Iron Fist or Shell Armor or Poison HealPDW Evolution:Klawean ---Level up with Anemosea in party---> Knuklaw Moves Learned: Barely resembles Klawean's movepool, as there are too many trade-offs as explained below, hence: Close Combat, Focus Punch, DynamicPunch, Crabhammer, Guillotine, Bulk Up, Mega Punch, Drain Punch, Detect, Mach Punch and Bullet Punch learned at the same level, BubbleBeam, Comet Punch, Harden, Leer, and starting move Bubble; relearnable moves are Ice Punch and Poison Jab; notable machine moves are HM Dive, and TMs Brick Break, Rock Slide, and X-Scissor
For a very critical reason, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all future ers and ers of my works.
Were you able to guess what species I based Klawean from? Worry no more, because it can't get any straightforward than this. I present, my Boxer Crab Fakemon, Knuklaw!
There you have it already! Knuklaw and Klawean are based from boxer crabs, "notable for their mutualism with sea anemones, which they hold in their claws for defense," says its Wikipedia entry. And yes, you got that right, those boxing gloves there were part of Anemosea's upper body. Don't worry now, Anemosea can regenerate lost body part, so having Anemosea in your party to evolve Klawean into Knuklaw doesn't do damage to your precious Sea Anemone Fakemon. By the way, this evolution method mirrors that of Slowpoke when a Shellder bites its tail [Slowbro] or head while holding King's Rock [Slowking], as well as Mantyke into Mantine when a Remoraid is present in the party.
Knuklaw's stats are again taken from fellow crustaceans, Kingler and Crawdaunt. Knuklaw's 53 HP is 10 points less than that of Crawdaunt's 63. Knuklaw's amazing 130 Attack and measly 50 Special Attack is taken directly from Kingler's. My Boxer Crab's Defense of 100 is in the exact middle of Kingler's 115 [15 points more] and Crawdaunt's 85 [15 points less]. Knuklaw's 75 each in Defense and Speed is easily 20 points more than Corphish's 55 on the same two stats. By the way, Knuklaw's 75 Speed is the same as Kingler, too. And finally, Knuklaw's 483 stat total is eight points more than Kingler's 475, because Kingler's stat total is seven points higher than Crawdaunt's 468.
As mentioned above, Knuklaw's movepool barely resembles Klawean's, and it is all because of the additional Fighting type upon evolving [you can tell by its massive pecs and abs, oh, and the gloves, too ]. Only Crabhammer, Guillotine, BubbleBeam, Harden, Leer, and starting move Bubble are retained. For Klawean's Double-Edge, Knuklaw gets Poliwrath's DynamicPunch; for Swords Dance, a Fighting-typed Bulk Up; for Slash using its pincers, Hitmonchan's Mega Punch with its boxing gloves; for a recoiling Take Down, an HP-sapping Drain Punch, courtesy of Hitmonchan; for Protect, its counterpart Detect, again from Hitmonchan; for Metal Claw, Knuklaw gets a good bargain of two-for-one, with Mach Puch and Bullet Punch, just like Hitmonchan learning both at the same level; and lastly, for ViceGrip using its pincers again, Hitmonchan's Comet Punch with its makeshift knuckles. Whew, that's a lot of Hitmonchan references! It's like I turned Hitmonchan into a crab, a HitmonCRAB! Lol! But wait, there's more! Knuklaw also gets Hitmonchan's Focus Punch and Close Combat as ultimate moves, as well as relearnable Ice Punch like Medicham and relearnable Poison Jab like Gliscor.
Speaking of Hitmonchan and Gliscor, Knuklaw's Abilities this time no longer resemble Kingler's and Crawdaunts, save for Shell Armor. In place of Hyper Cutter which negates Attack reduction, Knuklaw gets Hitmonchan's Iron Fist, which adds power to punching moves. Knuklaw's Poison Heal is taken from Gliscor, as Klawean's Immunity is taken from Gligar. I did this to symbolize that that Klawean will do anything to evolve into Knuklaw, even facing Anemosea's toxins. Brave, brave Klawean! Which leads to Klawean gaining the Fighting type as a Knuklaw!
Obviously, Knuklaw is a slow Physical Attacker with all those punching moves and 130 in Attack. Just select four among its movepool, and you're all set. Crabhammer and HM Dive are its Physical, Water-typed, STAB moves. On the other hand [or knuckle, or claw, or whatever ], Focus Punch and DynamicPunch, though powerful Fighting-typed STAB-bed moves, are rather unreliable, while an accurate Close Combat is somewhat risky since it lowers defenses, so Brick Break via TM is feasible. Double-Edge, Mega Punch, Metal Claw or priority-move Bullet Punch can all do at least neutral damage to types not covered by Water and Fighting. Other notable TMs for Knuklaw, as with Kingler, are Rock Slide and X-Scissor. Its relearnable Poison Jab and Ice Punch are there to punish its weakness to Grass-types: Poison Jab with the chance of inflicting Poison, while Ice Punch takes care also of another weakness -- Flying-types. Though not advisable at all, Knuklaw can somewhat wall with Bulk Up and 100 Defense, just watch out because it only has 53 in the HP stat.
Are you going to create Fakemon starters? If so, I have a suggestion for the Fire-type starter.
A cat pokemon that gains a Ghost-Type upon first evolution. It's a Special Sweeper with an alternate Status specialty (practically guaranteed by Ghost typing) that can't use physical attacks worth a damn.
In case you're wondering, I was inspired by the Narutoverse's two-tailed ghost cat.
I have my own idea for a Fire starter already. And besides, what you refer to is a nekomata, which has been done numerous times here in , so you can just search for it and a number of Fakemon deviations will surely pop out.
I have another Dim Stone evolution in mind already. And besides, Kirlia already has a Dawn Stone evo. Giving it a Dim Stone evo kinda messes things up for me and my Fakedex, as Dim Stone is like Dawn Stone in that it gives a single line evo family a branch evo, and not giving a branch evo family another branch evo.
If you have a lot of suggestions in mind, I suggest you work on them. It's your idea, after all. As I have mine.
But I'm crap at drawing... sniffle. That and I have no idea what kind of stat totals the Pokemon have. BTW, do you have any idea how to put emoticons into a comment post? I wanted to insert a Sadness emoticon after the first sentence, but couldn't figure out how.
ABTW, if you need a plotline for the region, I have one that's been gathering metaphorical dust in my brain. Just say the word.
